What is Our Children, Our Future?

 

The Our Children Our Future Campaign to End Child Poverty is a coalition made up of 170+ organizations throughout the state of West Virginia. The coalition is doing great things to build a better West Virginia by working vigorously on leadership development, community engagement, and policy change.

 

OCOF Values:  We value democracy, the notion that there’s nobody better than you to decide what’s best for your family or your community.  That’s why we never work on an issue or project that does not include leadership from those most affected, and we try to invest in training and leadership development.  We value collaboration.  We do not believe that change is ever achieved by a single person, or even a single organization.  That’s why we invest all of our talent and treasure in the creation and expansion of effective alliances and collaborations.  We value accountability.  That’s why we always publish our goals and hold ourselves, and our lawmakers accountable to achieving them.  We have a culture of evaluation and constructive criticism.
